Ever wished for an all-in-one anti-ageing beauty product that's gentle on your budget, super easy to use, and readily available everywhere?

Well, look no further because we’ve found it for you! Hello, Coconut oil!

Coconut oil tames split ends, works as an amazing moisturising balm for shaving legs, and can soften and prepare dry and broken cuticles for your next manicure. Coconut oil really does it all, and does it well! Try warming a small amount between the palms of your hands or your fingertips until it's liquid to make it easier to use.

5 Additional uses for Coconut oil to show how versatile it is:

1. An all-over body moisturizer. Slather it over your entire body after a hot shower, paying extra attention to elbows and heels and any other particularly dry areas.

2. An eye makeup remover. Apply a generous amount to cotton wool round, and gently remove stubborn eye makeup in seconds. Waterproof mascara? No problem! Massage the oil directly onto the eyes with your fingertips to melt the mascara, and then simply wipe away.

3. A hair mask. Apply a handful of melted coconut oil on dry hair from root to tip, and cover your hair with a towel. Leave on for 20 minutes, then shampoo twice. For a more intensive hot oil treatment, apply tin foil over your coconut-embalmed tresses, and blast with a hot hairdryer. Alternatively, sit in the warm sun while the coconut oil works its magic.

4. A night cream and under-eye treatment. Massage gently all over the face before going to bed to moisturise dry skin. Or, use as an under-eye cream to soften wrinkles and laugh lines around the delicate eye area.

5. As makeup. Yes, you heard right. Makeup! Use a small amount to highlight cheekbones or your cupids bow. Less is more here, so dab the excess off your fingertips before applying some to your already made-up face. When you have just a small amount on your fingertips, gently press and tap it onto the skin to highlight the cheekbones. Tap in a “U” shape until you reach the outer edge of your eyebrow. A small amount can also be used to highlight and catch the light of your cupids bow. For a natural, pretty glow on the skin, just the way we like it!

So, now that you know how versatile coconut oil is, what kind of coconut oil should you buy? The best coconut oil to use is organic, cold-pressed, unrefined and virgin. This one is best because it contains all the naturally occurring phytonutrients and polyphenols your skin loves. It's the purest coconut oil you will get and contains only one ingredient – coconut oil.

Can I use coconut oil if I have acne or very oily skin? No. This is the only time we don’t recommend coconut oil. Coconut oil is primarily made up of saturated fats, so it acts as a barrier to trap moisture under the skin. This isn't going to work for you if you have extremely oily skin. It could also potentially clog your skin because it sits on top of your skin. Please see a dermatologist if you have very bad acne, as it can have devastating effects on your confidence and self-esteem.

So what do our favourite celebrities have to say?

Whilst sharing beauty tips in an interview for a TV show, Victoria Beckham revealed just how much she loves coconut oil to keep her skin soft and supple. She claims coconut oil is better than anything else on the market for moisturising her body.

Actress Emma Stone mentioned in an interview with Vogue that she is allergic to “just about everything” so she uses extra virgin coconut oil on her skin because she knows it won’t cause a reaction. She also uses it as a makeup remover before bedtime.

What about a Famous Victoria Secret model? Is coconut oil good enough for them too? You better believe it! Famous VS model, Miranda Kerr, touted the benefits in an interview with the Huffington Post where she said: “ I cook with it, use it in my hair, it’s great to remove any makeup, especially if you have sensitive eyes. If you have a burn, (like if you’ve burned yourself with a curling iron) you can put a bit of that on there to help. Sometimes I even sleep with coconut oil in my hair.”

So, there you have it, folks. If celebrities (who can buy any beauty product they like) recommend it, then it’s good enough for us. Its affordability and adaptability are hard to beat. It's really an all-in-one product, making packing for holidays a breeze. No more worrying about which essential products to take, and fretting because you've run out of space in your toiletry bag for others. Coconut oil, with its multiple uses and benefits, will solve all this.

Just be sure to decant your oil into a secure container that seals tightly, so it won't leak all over your bag. (Been there, done that!) If you take coconut oil with you on your travels, you might well be the only beach babe with silky, glossy locks, radiant skin and smooth stubble-free legs!
